Smoken Moe’s Unreal BBQ’s new owner Teri Peterson, like so many others, fell in love with Pagosa Springs and decided to make her home here. She knew she wanted to own and operate a business in Pagosa and when the opportunity came up to purchase Smoken Moe’s, she grabbed it without hesitation. “Things just fell into place,” Teri joyfully said to Pagosa Now.

As a full time rabbit judge, Teri had been travelling through Pagosa Springs for years. “I’ve always loved Pagosa”. Not knowing when she would be able to make a home here, she continued to visit as often as possible whenever she passed through the area. “I knew I wanted a business here but wasn’t sure what.”

Smoken Moe’s has been a favorite BBQ spot for many locals over the years. When it became available to purchase, Teri knew that was what she wanted. “I’ve never owned a restaurant before but knew this was what I wanted to do.”

They say when things are meant to be, they happen pretty fast and that is exactly what happened in Teri’s case. She is now the proud owner of the already established, and loved, Smoken Moe’s BBQ located at 68 Bastille Dr., behind Pagosa Brewing Company. “We’ve kept the same recipes that everyone loved before”.  So don’t fear locals, things are still great!

Now with their new beer and wine license they can offer nice cold beers with your meal and have later hours than before.
